No mixes here, this is the real deal!

It’s pretty popular at this homestead and it was mentioned that the great secret recipe should be shared. Complinemts of the handwriting of Great Gram Cora Williams and the wisdom of Gramma Shipman:

You need, two really ripe bananas

1/3 cup sugar

4 Tbsp flour

dash salt

2 cups milk

2 eggs beaten

2 Tbsp butter

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Stir flour sugar salt in a 2 quart saucepan to blend. SLOWLY add milk, stirring constantly over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.

Add 3 or 4 tablespoons of the hot mixture to the beaten eggs, stirring rapidly to warm the eggs, then add eggs back into the hot mixture and stir rapidly so the eggs do not cook too soon.

Let it come back to the boil and boil about 2 minutes. Take off the heat and stir in butter and vanilla.

In a serving bowl, place a layer of vanilla wafers, cover with sliced bananas and pour pudding over. You can layer pudding and bananas as long as they last or just do it all at once.

However you do it, it’s good!
