Ah, such a pleasant tinkling sound. Outside the window a few random drops become a stream. The temperature has risen steadily from 18  to 38 this morning.

With brilliant sunshine and a gentle south breeze, the snow and ice are retreating!

Earlier, we made the ‘feed store’ trip, returning home by dirt roads and noting the hillsides facing the sun were giving up their mantles, fallen leaves and dirt showing a patchwork on the white background. Water ran across the road in a couple of low spots, blue ice at the edges taking on fluid shapes, ever changing.

A pleasant respite from these days of  bitter winds, frozen ground, a winter thaw! If the weather man is right, we can expect a few days like this, a respite indeed, a cure for cabin fever!  A hope, a promise, Spring will come!
