Last weekend, Taara and I went to the botanical gardens.

Tomatomania, a wonderful display of heirloom tomatoes and garden herbs were the focus events.

We enjoyed those, sights and scents in abundance and much new plant knowledge to sift through. I will admit, I now have a desire to find out if the ‘chocolate tomato can be grown in Missouri. Tara has a little Aerogarden at her home and had started some tomato plants (not chocolate ones) and we talked a lot about things she could grow in containers in her yard and on the patio.

The Gardens were fascinating, a portion was set out for Native American plants and their medicinal uses,  and a garden of more modern plants and herbs used for foods.

Areas were set aside for native plants for many areas in the world, Africa, Australia, and Europe. What a wonderful afternoon we had!
