Today is “teacher appreciation day”. I want to salute, Essie Fields, Virgie Ells, my dear Aunt Kathy and some other wonderful ladies that started me on my journey making quilts. Without their lessons and encouragement, I would never have tried.

My trusty and trusted rotary cutter met with an accident today!  The retractor spring gave way.

Now the blade will not stay in position without a lot of force from my arthritic hands. This is not a good thing friends! I have several projects that I need/want to complete.

So, I still plan to sew, cutting pieces by hand with the good old scissor and template method.

It has been awhile. My first quilts were made that way, so I believe I can do it.  It will take longer, but I will get there.
