I read this article this morning. http://www.appalachianhistory.net/2011/05/amaze-your-friends-and-irritate-your.html

It brought to mind several other ‘found’ muscial instruments, the wax paper and comb ‘harmonica,’ blowing actoss a bottle, and wash tub bass fiddle.

As we grew up, these items would often replace other more expensive and scarce instruments at gatherings. Often blending with guitar, banjo and fiddles to lend a haunting note and new harmonies to the music.

It’s good to know that all these classic home made instruments are not forgotten.
