This is an old adage in the Missouri Ozarks where I live.

I checked back through my records of this year, and thunder rumbled more than once in February.  Particularly on the 27 and 28th. We are having a ‘cool snap’ right now. I always expect one about this time, “blackberry winter”, a few days of chilly weataher when the berries are blooming. It is 42 degrees (again) this morning…

Our weather forecaster has actually stated that there may be a frost in places this week.

I must admit, I am not amused! Things are coming along in the garden, flowers bloom in the yard and fields, I am really ready for the warm sunny days of Spring but they seem to be passing by for the most part right now.
