These have nothing that I know of to do with either spiders nor warts. They are also known as wild crocus.

I ccannot find anything in any of my books that says they are edible, but who would want to eat such a lovely thing?

They range from short, around 8 inches to tall , around 3 feet, and come in varied colors . The season for these blooms is rapidly coming to an end in my area.

I thought you might like to see them, and perhaps look out for them along the roadside or waste areas, where you live.
