Yesterday was the annual trip to the license office. While I was waiting my turn, I noticed a man in front of me wearing a “Retired Air Force” badge on his cap. I thanked him for his service.

After I had done that several other people in the office also did. You could see a kind of glow come over his face, as he shared a few of his experiences over a 30 year military career, beginning in the 1970’s.

He had seen places and things none of us had or could dream of.

It sped up our wait, as we all had a few minutes to ponder on our blessings of freedom.
